I lost all of my notes after updating the app

My Samsung notes app wouldn't open so i tried updating it and after that it finally opened but i lost all of my notes, is there anything i can do to get them back or is it over

Go to "Samsung Note Settings" in your notes app and enter your Samsung account and sync
