Rest In Peace, Old Friend
Friends, family, car enthusiasts, and those who simply tolerate my long-winded story about this particular Volkswagen.
We are gathered here today to mourn the loss of a truly dependable, if somewhat quirky, companion.
My Tiguan, a vehicle whose name is a portmanteau of "tiger" and "iguana," has gone to the great junkyard in the sky.
Some might say "it's just a car". But they didn't know the way she could somehow hold more groceries than seemed physically possible.
They didn't know the reassuring Growl of her German engineering.
They didn't appreciate her unique ability to navigate snowy roads with the sure-footedness of, well, a tiger-iguana hybrid.
For years, we navigated the concrete jungle together. We faced traffic jams, treacherous weather, and the occasional questionable parallel parking job.
Through it all, my Tiggie was always there, a reliable constant in a world of variables.
She wasn't always perfect, of course. For every luxurious interior touch, there was a confusing, finicky infotainment system.
She had her quirks, like the occasional lag in acceleration that would make you wonder if she was just taking a brief meditative pause before committing to a merge. But these were not flaws; they were her endearing eccentricities.
The end came, as it so often does, without warning. Not a slow, gentle decline into old age, but a sudden, violent, and unfortunate encounter with the unyielding forces of momentum.
Now, it's a testament to the wonders of crumple zones that I stand here today. My Tiggie, with her robust build quality, sacrificed herself to ensure my safety. And for that, I am eternally grateful.
So let us remember the good times. The road trips, the commutes, the moments of peace in her quiet cabin. It is a sad end, but also a moment to recognize the role she played in my life.
She has her wings now.
