I'm so sorry for your loss and relate more than you know. I lost my twin brother to AIDS in 2016, we were only 33 at the time. I was basically his hospice and took care of him until the end. The day of the funeral we were in my mom's backyard, and there was a tree full of cardinals just hanging out...... and this was a huge tree and it was full. We'd never seen so many in one place it was crazy. Then one of my sons in 2022 had killed himself. A few days later a cardinal flew in our house and somehow made its way to his bedroom and just sat on his bed post......I was awestruc.... I'd never seen anything like it in my entire life. I believe that when the people we love the most die their spirit watches and looks over us. Anytime I see a cardinal now I remember them.
