"Recently Added" at top

After one of the recent crappy updates from Samsung they added "recently added" at the TOP of my phone list, WHICH you cannot get rid of or disable!!! who thought this would be a good idea, like "oh the users can't remember who they recently added, so let us remind them CONSTANTLY"!!  

I am SICK and TIRED of the additions and useless updates that Samsung has been forcing on the user.  THIS will be the LAST Samsung product that I ever use!!!!!!

Tap on each recently added contact to get rid of them.

The members of this community are here to help with your issues. You could ask questions and possibly get solutions. No need to announce your departure.

The recently added goes away once you open the app or tap on the contact. Some people find it useful, if they added someone recently and want to find the entry quickly if they want to edit it. I recently added my niece. Her entry appeared briefly (just once) after I opened the app. I closed the app and opened it again and the entry was gone from recents. So, it's not a big deal.

Nope, but appear to have gotten that particular "enhancement" to the contacts app. Frankly, I thought it was always there, since I seem to recall seeing it before.

With all due respect, this is temporary upon the update.

The moron, as you call them, I call them DEVELOPERS have added a very useful feature to your contact page.

I have been lucky enough to participate in many Betas and one of my requests over the years has been some form of recently added contact. Too many times I have quickly added a contact without putting in notes for that contact and then forgetting their name the next day. Recently added solves that problem.

Your question should have been, WHY, not what moron!

I really thought it was always there. I think it became glaringly obvious to most users when every single contact in their list was seen as recently added with the update. I don't actually use the app anyway, I use the contacts tab on the dialer, which has slightly different behavior.

I never use the contact app either, its in the dialer app.
Recently was there for 2 days, then gone

I added my niece the other day, then opened the app for some reason, and she was right up there in recently added. I closed the app and then remembered that I wanted to add a picture, but when I reopened the app, recently added was gone and I had to scroll to her list position to do the edit. So, at worst, for some people it's only a temporary annoyance. At best, it's a useful tool.
