I woke up in the middle of the night to find my zfold5 absolutely toasting on the charger.
It turns out every night it gets crazy hot. It resets every night, I've cleared cache, tried another outlet and cord. It gets very hot every time.

This kind of heat is no good for a folding phone - the inner screen needs normal temperatures to not lose its shape. How might I go about fixing it?

Are you using a quality charger? Is it actually hot, or just warmer than you expect it to be? Download Good Guardians an the Thermal guardiam module from the Galaxy store, then check to see if it's actually way above the thermal threshold.

What do you mean by resets every night, do you mean it shuts down? Then it's overheating and the phone has protected itself. If your charger is good, have your phone evaluated at a service center.

Hi! Thanks for the suggestions
On average, when it reaches its peak, its between the second top and top bar - so like its actually really high. I should have specified I've used good guardian, but i appreciate you mentioning it.

Im using the standard cable and block from Samsung.
I had my fold replaced a couple months ago because my phone carrier broke it while in their care, and the past one didn't heat up like this (AFAIK)

I have my phone set to do an auto restart every night to help it run well in the day. It's a feature on settings

Thank you though for the suggestions, again. Im going to have to do further research

Just because it's a replacement phone, does not mean it isn't defective.  If the carrier broke your phone while in their care, it does not mean it wasn't replaced with a returned or refurbished model (I find they rarely give brand new as a replacement under those circumstances).  If it's still under warranty, have it evaluated and serviced, or fight with your carrier to give you a proper replacement because the one they gave you is defective.
