I’m furious with Samsung right now. I have a Galaxy Z Flip 6 that’s only six months old and still under warranty. After the August 14th update, the phone started overheating for no reason. A few days later, the screen stopped responding completely—even though it’s been in a case with a screen protector since day one.
Samsung support told me to take it to their “authorized” repair center, UbreakiFix. What happened there is beyond ridiculous. They pointed out the tiniest cosmetic dent on the corner (that’s been there for months and had nothing to do with the issue) and said Samsung would deny the warranty because of it. I ended up being forced to pay $380 out of pocket for a screen replacement.
Let’s be clear: this screen failure started right after the last software update. Samsung knows it, but instead of fixing the problem, they’re hiding behind a scratch excuse to avoid responsibility. This is nothing short of warranty abuse.
I’m sick of these expensive, repeated screen failures on Flip phones. Samsung needs to own up to the defects, fix the software update issues, and reimburse customers who are being unfairly charged.
I am unable to include the pictures here (no permissions it says) of the dent to show how ridiculous it is for Samsung to void the warranty.
I'm very sorry to hear about your experience. There have been so many stories posted here about Samsung not honoring warranties, and even more accounts of declining device quality. This is not the same company it used to be.
Is that what it is..... An update? I haven't closed my phone because I'm afraid my screen will stop working again! I also purchased my phone in Dec 2024. It hasn't been a year and I feel like I purchased a defective phone!!!!
