Fold & Flip Phonespurchased a Samsung Flip 7 from the Samsung UK online store when it was first released. In the first week of August, following a software update, I began experiencing an issue with WhatsApp video calls — the screen on my side was black, although I could still see the other person. The camera itself works perfectly in other applications.
I carried out troubleshooting, including a remote session with a Samsung technician who inspected my phone. I also visited a Samsung store, where I met another customer with the same device experiencing the identical problem, which had reportedly started around three weeks earlier.
At the store, the engineer asked me to uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp. However, once uninstalled, the app could not be reinstalled — although I was able to download other apps (e.g. Tesco) from the Play Store without issue. The engineer then confirmed this was a software issue.
Given that this problem started immediately after the latest software update and appears to affect other Flip 7 devices, I am concerned there may be defective handsets in circulation. I would like clear assurance that I will be provided with a fully functional, non-defective Flip 7, as confirmed by your own engineer that this is a software issue.

Fold & Flip PhonesHi yes, everybody who bought the Samsung Flip 7 who needs Whatsapp video calls has this issue. It's the Samsung update installing a driver that conflicts with Whatsapp. The Samsung developers can easily fix this and issue a new Samsung update to your phone. But they won't due to the incompetent first line support process, the agents will just say because the camera works with other apps you will have to call the Whatsapp team for support. Of course, there is no such thing as a Whatsapp team, only an online AI bot which is completely useless, there is no human that you can contact at Whatsapp, it's a Samsung issue anyway.
I posted this issue in the Samsung feedback form they emailed me with 1 star, which posts it on the front of the Samsung website, and they removed my post because they are worried it will affect their sales and revenue.
Can I ask everyone to spam the **** out of Samsung, just keep calling their Samsung support number, live chat etc... and overload them. Until we all stand-up to them in bulk, and make this issue affect them instead of us, they will do nothing, and this issue will never be resolved. As it is impossible to get past 1st line support agents. Even if you go to a Samsung shop appointment speak to an engineer, it will be the same scripted response.
If they emailed you a feedback form, I recommend in bulk, you all describe this issue, and leave a 1 star. It pi** them off.
