I love my Fold 6. I wanted the fold 7, but you can't use any stylus with it. That was the primary function was the S-Pen & it's abilities. Now they took it out of a big phone? That is just really really STUPID! Having a s-pen is awesome. That was my deciding factor to buy samsung. Now they take it out? If they get rid of the s-pen function in all phones, im giving to buy a different brand that alloes stylus use.
I'd rather have my phone with s-pen tech inside. I don't need it taken out just to shave a tiny tiny bit if width. Ill keep the width if It means I keep s-pen.

They have a history of taking things out and increasing the price. I must say our tech lords are pretty lame. Just slap AI and ads on everything and call it the future

You keep using two words interchangeably, and they are not interchangeable! A stylus is not an S pen, but an S Pen is a stylus! Let me explain. A stylus is a writing instrument that has capacitive capabilities allowing it to write on a touch screen. This is exactly what an S pen does, however, it also has Bluetooth functionality that allows it to perform air actions away from the screen. So, what do you want? Do you want a stylus that is basically a generic capacitive pen that allows you to write on the screen? Or, do you want the S Pen that is a stylus, but it also has all the bells and the whistles with the air actions? Personally, I don't care about the air actions, I just like to write on the screen. So, my s24 ultra, the S-Pen has maybe been out of its Silo five times in the nearly year that I've had it. Why? Because I carry a capacitive pen in my pocket which I use all the time!

Except now that BLE and air actions have been removed from the S Pen, it's not much more than a stowable stylus. And the Fold 7 doesn't support the S Pen at all, which was the OP's original point.

You should still be able to use a generic capacitive pen to write on the screen on the fold seven! If you can tap it with your finger, you can write on it with a capacitive pen!

Wasn't your point that the S Pen is [was] more than a generic stylus? Everything that made it special is now gone. I can use a capacitive pen on any phone screen. There's no incentive for Samsung to provide/support a neutered S Pen.

Yes I know they are 2 different things. And I know how they all 3 kinds work. The Bluetooth version, fold s-pen (without Bluetooth capability,& 3rd party stylus pens. But according to Samsung they DON'T ALLOW EITHER to work anymore. They took out All the tech that allows even the 3rd party stylus pens to work. So I did the word switch for a reason. That's all.

Not only does this read as incredibly belittling to the OP, it is also completely irrelevant. Additionally, carrying around a capacitive stylus when your phone has one of the most advanced active stylus on the market BUILT INTO IT is...kind of insane???

I agree with the point OP is trying to make, you built a phone that turns into a tablet but then took away the thing people love about tablets. You really didn't need to go this thin with the 7. I would be just fine with it being thicker if you kept the Spen and even had a better battery. Samsung succeeded in making a phone that is even more like all the other ones than the last generation, I don't call that progress! I think a lot of us became Samsung users because Samsung offered something that we couldn't get elsewhere. What about the Fold 7 is so different than the Google Fold or the OnePlus or any other foldable? I actually think the Google is cheaper and since it's a Google phone the OS will always be the latest and greatest. Samsung used to be known as an innovator and then I guess they got to big and stopped that. Now we see the technology roll out of Samsung that the smaller manufacturers debuted a generation or two ago, it's kinda sad.
