How many times does it take for the One UI 7.0 and Android 15 update to complete? I received an update notice this past weekend for my Galaxy Z Flip3 5G phone and started the update Monday night. An update has ran and completed each night since then with a new update request appearing the next day, which I reschedule to later that night. A new update request appeared this morning (Friday). That is five updates in a row. How much longer should I expect this to go on?
The UI look and feel changed after one of the recent updates, two nights ago, I think. I know I was on UI version 6.something before the first update and I think Android 14, maybe. I'm not sure if it is relevant, but I did notice the latest update lists Security patch level of June 1, 2025 while my system software information lists Android security patch level of May 1, 2025.
Unfortunately because you were so many updates behind, it will take as many until it gets to the current version that your phone will settle on. There is no way to avoid this, it will go from month to month.
Any idea what the current version will be for older phones? This community has a lot of chat about One UI 8.0 updates and that isn't in any of my updates so far so I haven't checked to find out if it is only required for newer phones or older ones as well.
You last update should be security patch level August, it is update 51. The flip3 has recieved it's last OS update. It will not update to Ui8. It now only recieves security patches. They are now on Quarterly updates, I think there are 2 more left until end of life for support.
Upon further investigation, the flip3 is no longer software supported. Unless Samsung deems something as critical.
