Lost 90% of my Custom Album Photo's

I have a problem and I don't know what to do, I tried to go into the my files app and transfer everything from the DCIM folder (where photo's are kept) to the Google Drive I accidentally hit cancel transfer and as soon as I went back into my gallery most of my pictures that were sorted into albums went missing and I can't get it back.

I'm really upset and I don't know what to do, I tried loading it in a recovery program and it's not detecting any of my albums and all of the pictures are all randomized and I don't know if there recent, can anybody tell me how I can bring these pictures back?, any advice would be appreciated thanks

Why transfer them to Google drive? Your photos should already be backing up to Google photos. Open the Google photos app or go to photos google.com and see if your photos are there. Unfortunately, the will not be in albums, the will be sorted by date and you will have to recreate the album.

My Google photos are in there but I don't know if there up to date because some pictures I took recently and they're not matching up with the date, I took a few days ago and I don't know what happened, I heard this happens sometimes to other users but I just don't get why everything just disappeared, my phone doesn't have an SD card slot so there's two different directories I'm trying to figure out which one it is, any other advice?

If you did not run out of space in Google storage, then your most recent photos will be there. Google sorts by date by default, so your most recently taken photos should be shown first. Sometimes Google tries to categorize your photos, but the are still arranged by date. BTW, as far as your recovery program goes, if it's showing partial file names, the naming convention for the camera photo file names for pictures you did not rename is year, month, day. So a photo taken today would be 20250309_xxxx.

What do you mean by there are two different directories? There should be on one DCIM folder. I don't know why your photos would have disappeared after an aborted file transfer, have you checked the trash?
