Im asking. So I ran a device diagnostic because certain features on certain apps wouldn't work. Diagnostic shows wifi issue. Made sure software was up to date and restarted device. Problem persists. Support says book a repair. My question is how is it certain the phone is the issue and not the router?

Diagnostics are only performed on the device itself. The diagnostic tool has no way of knowing whether your router has a problem. If diagnostics determine a device hardware issue, you should follow up with an authorized service center. See this link to find one near you:

Thanks. So upon further research, Manuel says you cannot connect a device using only wifi. You have to have mobile data. I have no Sim. Is this why my device is performing poorly?

Which device is it? The manual says you need to have a SIM? That doesn't sound entirely right. You should be able to operate solely on WiFi. But if there's a WiFi hardware problem and you don't have a SIM, you won't be able to access online services.

That means you are able to access the internet using WiFi instead of mobile data. That's the same thing I said above.

If diagnostics is telling you there's a WiFi problem with your phone, that's why you can't access the internet.

By saying I have no sim I was just quickly trying to say I have no mobile data.

I can access it. I didn't say I couldn't. Some apps have certain features that wouldn't work. For example, I downloaded a file converter app from play store. Ran through the prompts plugged in the files hit start and the whole process started over. The same condition happens on different apps. It's whatever process your trying to accomplish just simply starts over

If you're saying that those apps aren't working properly because they need an internet connection, and diagnostics is telling you there's a problem with WiFi ... shouldn't you have your phone evaluated at a service center?
