Why don't all Samsung models feature built-in video calling through the Phone app? It seems like a pretty basic feature

I have not seen this feature since the time I started purchasing factory unlocked phones. Is it still available on phones purchased through the carrier? If it is, I wish they could make it available for the factory unlocked phones too.

Video calling goes through carrier, i believe it is still available through them. It requires custom FW from carrier. This is why you don't have it on unlocked phone.

@SamsungNovice A few years ago Samsung partnered with Google to integrate Google Meet into Samsung unlocked devices. Carrier branded devices often incorporate carrier provided video calling.

You can absolutely make video calls from your phone, both you and receiving caller have to have Google Meet.

Thanks for the replies😊 I bought a carrier branded phone, but video calling is through Google Meet. I was hoping for something straightforward like FaceTime.
