Samsung Galaxy A15 contact list problems

I have two issues with my Samsung Galaxy a15 contact list; first of all on the list, to the right it would show me letters like a, b, and see so I could pick the contact I wanted to see. That's no longer there. Also on the individual contacts it doesn't give me the option of changing changing the ringtone. That piece just doesn't show on any of the contacts. What can I do to correct these?

The contacts app is the same for all phones.  To change the ringtone for a contact, open that contact. At the bottom of the contact screen, you will see favorites, edit, share, more.  Tap on more and then select change ringtone/vibration and then choose your sound.
