A Series & Other MobileHello everyone,
Iโve tried everything I could find online to enter recovery mode on my Galaxy A05s (Volume Up + Power + USB cable). But the phone only shows the charging logo and never enters recovery.
Iโve tested different timings, cables, and chargers, but no success.
Has anyone else faced this on the A05s? Is there a different way to get into recovery on this model?
Appreciate any help or experience you can share. Thanks!

You don't need the USB cable.
To enter recovery mode on a Samsung Galaxy A05s, first power off the device. Then, press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons simultaneously. Release both buttons when the Samsung logo appears. This will boot the phone into Android recovery mode, where you can navigate the menu using the volume buttons and select options with the power button.

Thanks a lot for your help!
I actually already tried that method (power off, then Volume Up + Power), but on my Galaxy A05s it doesn't go into recovery โ just shows the Samsung logo and then boots normally.
Iโve read that some models like A05s might require a USB cable plugged in to trigger recovery mode. Iโve also tested with a charger, but no luck so far.
If you or anyone else has managed to enter recovery on this specific model without USB, Iโd love to hear more. Appreciate your reply again!

None of my devices require a USB cable to boot into recovery, so I can't verify. But I think you need to plug into an actual powered device (computer or tablet), not a charger.

Thanks for laying out the steps so clearly โ this is one of those situations where multiple small variables can stack up and make something simple, like entering recovery mode, a lot more complicated than expected.
Hereโs everything to consider, broken down:
1. USB Cable Type and Power Source Matter
For some Galaxy models (especially newer or more budget-tier ones like the A05s), the recovery trigger doesnโt always work with just the buttons alone โ unless a USB cable is connected. But not just any cable:
It needs to be plugged into a powered device like a PC or tablet, not just a wall charger.
Some chargers wonโt deliver the right handshake signal to trigger recovery mode even if power is flowing.
2. Timing and Bootloader Behavior
If you're seeing the Samsung logo and then it boots normally, it's possible that:
The buttons arenโt being held long enough, or
The bootloader is reading the button press after power-up, not during pre-boot
Try this method:
Power off completely
Connect the USB cable to a powered computer
Press and hold Volume Up + Power together
As soon as the Samsung logo flashes, release Power but keep holding Volume Up for a few more seconds
3. Regional Variants and Firmware Locks
Some models sold in specific markets (or those with certain security patches) might behave differently. If youโre using a carrier-branded model, or a phone originally sold with One UI Core, recovery mode might require USB ADB triggers or can be delayed by system protection layers.
4. Background Services Interfering
Make sure Fast Boot or Auto Restart settings arenโt enabled in Battery > Device Care, as they can interfere with the shutdown-to-recovery sequence by speeding up boot time or auto-igniting the OS.
5. Try Safe Mode First
Sometimes the issue isnโt with recovery at all but rather a background app hijacking boot behavior. If you're just trying to troubleshoot, Safe Mode might help isolate it:
Hold Power > then tap and hold Power Off > select Safe Mode
---
Youโre doing everything right โ just keep in mind that with these newer or lower-tier phones, the tiniest detail (like whether itโs plugged into a wall vs a computer) can make or break recovery access. Definitely try with a PC if you havenโt yet. Let us know how it goes โ every bit of info helps others with the same model.
