A Series & Other MobileAfter installing the latest update, the phone would no longer even acknowledge that a SIM card was present. Nothing I did changed it. I had a new SIM card sent, and had the same problem. I wiped it, reinstalled the old version, and it worked again. That was until it forced the latest update, and broke it again. Now I can't reinstall the old version again, so the phone is useless to me, and sending it back for a refund if they can't fix it soon. This is a corrupt software installation, and it needs to be addressed quickly. There are thousands of people with this problem, and it is complete BS. Do you even test them before releasing them? If you are trying to obsolete hardware, this is a crappy way to do it. These phones are being sold quickly by stores, so you need to get off your arses and fix it. Going on 2 **bleep**g weeks without a phone now. It's stupid.

A Series & Other MobileAnd, there are millions of users for whom this did not happen. That it happened at al is unfortunate, but you do have to put in an error report. https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Tips-Tricks/How-to-Send-Feedback/ba-p/3001692
I don't know if you will find help here, but at the very bottom of this thread is a post outlining something that worked for them and some others:

A Series & Other MobileYeah, I know. It's weird. Already sent feedback. So far, nothing I have tried, except for going to the previous version, has worked. Now, I get an error code in Odin, and haven't had a chance to investigate it yet. It worked once flawlessly, and now it won't work again. Did developer, USB debug, auto blocker, etc. Airplane mode. Reset network, **bleep**, reset everything. Cleared data and cache on any related software. And as I said, a new SIM card. To me, it seems to be hard-coded in the system itself. Available sim is greyed out. Since there is no SIM, there are no mobile options showing. Almost like it's trying to find an ESIM and doesn't know there is a physical SIM. Not sure to be honest.

A Series & Other MobileIf you fixed it, tell others how you did it so they can see if your fix worked for them. Saying you fixed it when so many people in this and other posts are having the same issue without telling how you did it, is not helpful.

A Series & Other MobileSo, maybe still tell people what you did and that it resulted in trickle charging. Perhaps as a warning that it will work, but they may ruin something else. People can decide if they want to take the chance.

A Series & Other MobileIt looks like about 300 of these phones have been sold in the past month by Amazon alone. I watched about 44 of them being sold this week. The phone I have is a renewed phone that was unlocked for GSM carriers only. I bought another one that is unlocked for both GSM and CDMA carriers. I was told that this one can update to the latest system. I will have the phone on Thursday, and we will see what happens, lol.
