Unfortunately, from what I've read, Kwanzaa, along with other cultural/DEI events (like Black History Month, Pride Month), was removed from default calendar views in apps like Google Calendar (and by extension, Samsung Calendar, as it often syncs) due to a company pivot in 2024 to focus only on official public/national holidays, citing scalability issues with managing a vast, growing list of diverse cultural observances.

Interesting. I was not aware of this shift. Seems to me a delicate topic where someone is going to be offended no matter what you do.
Limiting to federally recognized holidays was/is probably Google's best option here for a via media.
