A Series & Other MobileYou have to contact the carrier that you purchased the phone from they are the ones that will need to provide the carrier unlock code for your device so it can be used on another carrier

A Series & Other MobileMost carriers require the phone to be on their service for 3 billing cycles before allowing it to be unlocked. Depending on your carrier, you may be able to unlock it yourself right from their app (T-Mobile has this feature). If you already cancelled your account with the carrier that locked the phone, you will have to call them to unlock it, as you no longer have an account to log into. If you got a "free" phone from your carrier and have not fulfilled your contract (usually 24 months), you will have to pay the balance remaining on the cost of the phone. They may not unlock it until you do.
You can still keep your old number when switching carriers without having to use your old SIM (your old SIM is provisioned to your previous carrier), just tell your new carrier to port your number.
