Why can't I uninstall useless apps that came pre-installed, like Samsung internet?

My phone is using nearly half its memory on system data (14+gb) and I can't so anything to lower it...

14-16 GB is the standard size that any operating system takes up.  You must have only 32 GB of storage on your phone, so it seems like an enormous amount of space taken up by the OS.  Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to decrease the size of the operating system.  The only thing you can do (other than upgrading your device to one with more storage) would be to limit the apps you download, do regular maintenance to keep the phone's cache partition clean, and clear the caches of the apps that are cache hogs, such as social media apps and web browsers.  You can download 1tapcleaner from the app store to clean the app caches (these are different than the phone's cache partition). You can't buy a phone with the bare minimum of storage and then complain about the operating system taking up half of it.  You should also utilize the SD card capability to store your photos on, rather than the phone's internal storage.  And, no.  There is no alternative operating system to install on the phone. You have an Android phone, and this is the space Android takes up.

Apps that can't be uninstalled can be disabled. This is usually the case with pre-installed system apps.

Hello Jedigazelle, Welcome to the Community. We understand the concern with the low memory on the A03 phone.

Have you tried the steps posted in the solution here? https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/A-Series-Other-Mobile/How-to-clear-delete-memory-space-from-syst...

Make sure any photos or files are stored in a cloud storage or to an SD card and not saved to the phone itself. Disable or uninstall unused apps and clear the app data using these steps: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10001372/

Hopefully, this will help some with the storage concerns.

Can't disable it either. And yes I cleared system cache with the power volume up button...didn't do anything noticable.

They can't be uninstalled because they're baked into the One UI OS and would cause issues if you did.

So....is there an alternate OS that doesn't waste space with useless apps I can't uninstall?

Well I didn't buy it, it was gifted to me secondhand, and I haven't used a smart phone in almost 13 years as I just got out of prison, so I can complain all I want if I don't know what the **bleep** is up with it.

Other than the snarky remarks, thanks for enlightening me on the rest of it.

I'm sorry you thought there was snark in my response, it was not meant that way.  You would not believe how many people buy the least expensive phone, with the least amount of memory (which I understand, as not everyone needs or can afford more than just basic functionality), and then complain about the size of the operating system and lack of storage to download other apps.  I agree that some things that are part of the operating system should be able to be uninstalled if they are useless to the end user, but this is the manufacturer's way of making sure you get used to their proprietary apps so you don't go and switch brands on them.  Incidentally, *all* Android phones will have the same size operating system, as Android is the foundation on which their launchers (user interface) runs, so switching brands won't even help you there.  If you had obtained or were gifted a carrier locked phone, it would be even worse, as the carriers add a whole lot of games and nonsense, although those can be removed.  Again, limit your downloaded apps to only what you need and utilize the SD card for any data/photo/music storage.

Hey there's a little ways to help it, one I use a lot, some apps I want, I'll only use once In awhile, instead of downloading the app, I'll go online to the site, log in and create a shortcut. Now I have full access to the app without the app.
