Device: Samsung Galaxy A54 5G Model: SM-A546U1 One UI version: 8.0 Android version: 16 Problem: When recording video with the stock Samsung Camera app, the phone freezes when stopping the recording. Details: - Photo mode works normally. - Video recording starts correctly and the recording timer runs. - A second counter showing remaining recording time stays frozen at 3:54 and does not update. - When pressing stop, the phone freezes for several seconds before responding. - Issue occurs even with Bluetooth disabled and no external accessories connected. - Problem persists after reboot. Expected behavior: Video recording should stop immediately without freezing the system. This appears to be a MediaCodec / Camera HAL issue in One UI 8 on Galaxy A54.

Hello @JoseluAaa,

I definitely can understand how frustrating it is to have your phone freezing after recording a video. I see that you mentioned that you are currently running UI 8 when this occurs. By any chance, have you attempted to wipe the cache partition recently?

To wipe the cache partition on your Samsung A54, power it off, the hold the Volume Up + Power while connecting to a PC/headphones, release buttons at the Android logo, use volume keys to highlight "Wipe cache partition," select with Power, choose "YES" with Volume Down, the Power to confirm, and select "Reboot system now" to restart. This removes temporary system files to improve performance without deleting personal data.

Also, I recommend wiping the cache to the camera app as well.

To wipe the cache for your Samsung A54's camera app, go to Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage > Clear cache.

By doing this removes temporary files without deleting any photos or data.

You can also test your device in safe mode. By doing this step helps diagnose issues by disabling third-party apps from running in the background that could be causing your symptoms to occur.

To put your Samsung Galaxy A54 in Safe Mode, press and hold the Side key and Volume Down buttons to bring up the Power menu, then press and hold the "Power off" icon until the Safe Mode option appears, and tap it to restart your phone with only essential apps running, indicated by "Safe mode" text will be in the corner. To exit Safe Mode, simply just restart your phone normally.

You can use this link here for better guidance: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS10001372/

If the symptoms do not persist in Safe Mode, then that means a third-party app is causing your symptoms to occur. I would recommend deleting the most recent apps that have been downloaded until the symptoms no longer occurring.

Let me know if this helps or if you need any other further assistance.
