Battery life on my Samsung A54

Since I got My A54 i have not had an issue with battery life. The phone is only a year old. Based on my usage patterns I've been getting 18-20 hours of uptime. I have not changed my usage, but after the April 1 security update last week, the uptime has decreased to 16-17 hours. Seems significant, but not critical. Anyone have any insights? Why would a garden variety security update cause a battery drain? I did clear the phone cache, as per usual, after the update.

After the update, I cleared the cashe on my phone by powering off, then hold volume up and side button till you get to the screen with options. Scroll down to "wipe cashe partition " (dont quote me on the name of that- but it says wipe cashe). After doing that, my phone has been working solid .

Read my post. I said I did that, as it's my usual practice after all updates of any type.

so each security patch may include a new feature that only work in the background which may cause more battery consumption. Usually security patch update contain bug fixes or security improvement, this sometimes also increase battery consumption to run more advanced security protection.

anyway let's be positive, perhaps next security update can fix your battery drain issue, who knows

Well, up to now, I've never had a security patch that decreased battery life. Perhaps the adaptive battery is learning again.

See when I got mine, which was maybe 2 months after it came out, unlocked, I hold. Y phone sideways alot, it was getting super hot in the upper right corner. Did this for about a month then just stopped. I'll clear thr cache randomly, not just after an update. Lot of people were having this issue. I literally put mine in the freezer one night for a few minutes. 😂 Yea mines usually on 20hr a day. Most is gps and delivery apps.

My battery up time leveled out to what it has been.  On another note, speaking about a hot right corner, did you see @Robin621k's melted case?

May security patch? I didn't get a May security patch. I'm on the April 1 Security patch.

If i ran YouTube and any app that uses GPS would over heating my phone.
