My phone was fine Friday night. It recently had done a few system updates. Saturday morning after the screen was frozen on Samsung start up screen. I let the battery drain. When to charge, had charge symbol come on.. After that, nothing. Can't reboot it in any way. It was a well looked after phone and I believe it is a software issue which has done all the damage. I've had the phone 2 years and 3months. A real shame.

A Series & Other MobileHello,
Was it during the update that it froze? What was the exact message when it was loading? Did you install any app prior to the update that is not compatible to your phone?
Here's what you can do:
1. Connect your charger to your phone if it charges and shows percentage then its working fine but there's an One UI issue.
2. If it is charging you can go ahead a nd attempt to turn it on after about 5 mins. If you get no response move to step 3
3. Use a desktop computer (PC or Mac) and use the Samsung Smart Switch App to recover your phone please note you might lose some data not backed up prior to this.
4. Take your device to the Samsung Experience Store and have a professional look at this for you.
5. Try running your device in safe mode by holding the down volume and the power on button it will disable some of the apps and only use core apps this will help you verify if its an app causing your issue or if indeed the update was a downgrade.
I am so sorry for this experience and I understand how frustrating this can be but there is a way to fix your phone.
I advice everyone to only try beta updates that have been officially pushed to the phone via Samsung and not use some online sources for updates as it could be for a specific model and since your model doesn't have the same specs particularly with the GPU it may temporarily have issues.

A Series & Other MobileHi.
Thank you.
- No it did not freeze during an update. I had this as a previous problem on an older phone and it was permanent gone.
- All updates done come officially via the phone. Unsure what updates they were, but I had one in December too.
- The phone is dead, so i cannot do anything with it.
- Taking it a samsung repairer would cost more than the phone is worth, or most likely a newer one.
Overall, it is very annoying.
