QuestionsHello Samsung Community!
Samsung should advertise the Android Linux Terminal as a major AI feature! With Ollama running in the Linux terminal, Google Pixel users already demonstrated that they can run local AI large language models (LLMs) locally on their phone, as shown here: https://x.com/ar7work/status/1899999570396143769 .
Without this feature, Samsung is missing out on the single biggest AI power-user feature for mobile devices. Not to mention, full-fledged desktop Linux applications could be run in Dex!
I am trying to get the new Android Linux Terminal working on my S25 Ultra, and it is crashing on startup with an "Unrecoverable error." See (Screenshot 2). I have tried multiple times to reinstall it with no success.
Is it true that the micro hypervisor framework that is used to handle Knox Real-time Kernel Protection (RKP) directly conflicts with Android Virtualization Framework (AVF) running the Linux Terminal at Exception Level 2 (EL2)? More concicely, is the Knox RKP preventing the Linux terminal from running in AVF at EL2, thus preventing us from running the Linux Terminal on Samsung devices?
For some background, according to Mishaal Rahman, "chipsets that launch with vendor API level 202404 must declare support for AVF. That means every device with the Snapdragon 8 Elite is capable of supporting it" https://x.com/MishaalRahman/status/1882881189369074112 .
Therefore, S25 devices should be able to run AVF, and Google already mandated it. From my (Screenshot 1) below, it appears that the virtualization framework is installed. So why is the Linux terminal not working?

I just submitted a One UI 8 Beta error report through the Samsung Members app. I look forward to a response. Please let me know how I can help in any way through testing and feedback. I will update this post with any feedback I receive.
Thank you for the awesome work on the beta! Will this be resolved for One UI 8 release?
