SuggestionsHey,
The Wi-Fi and network status bar icons should be bolder, to match the battery icon.
We suggested this during the One UI 7 beta program, but it was sadly not implemented in One UI 8.
Sample attached below

SuggestionsThis thing is a must. Big battery icon is a most welcome change but what makes it overall look bad is the non updated wifi and signal icons. Those wifi and singal icons should also be bigger and bolder to match the exact size of battery icon. Symmetry inside the UI is the MOST IMPORTANT factor that immediately leaves user the good impression of a fully finished and polished software. That being said, apart from status bar icons, the rest of the UI also needs consistnecy in terms of animations. The icons on home screen also need better padding and spacing between each others. Those things should be tuned pixel precise so that the glimpse of it just looks beautful. Samsung needs to just look at iOS, examine it and copy it's homework cuz it's never bad to copy good things. YES NEVER BAD TO COPY GOOD THINGS. iOS already had symmetry figured out since it came out. The icons on first iPhone were already symmetrical. The first version of iOS already had consistency in it's UI. It never had stuffs like having one icon bigger than other (example here in One UI being signal icons smaller than battery icon)
Also the home screen in One UI still doesn't have symmetry. The spacing is not perfect. The 2*2 widgets aren't properly square it's little bit stretched horizontally making it look noticeably unpolished than iOS. Same with icon spacing.. the space between icons on the top is more than on it's side compared to the icons next to it.
These things aren't some rocket science. It just needs simple tweak. These things aren't hard to do at all. Its time Samsung realizes, software plays major part than hardware cuz when we use the phone, we operate on the software level. Hardware is just a piece of metals and plastics and what gives it life is the software. A polished, organized, fully finished software with consistency within the UI is a HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE factor on making a product look beautful. What's the point of 200mp sensors and zoom cameras when software optimization isn't upto the par.
I will also come to cameras now, iPhones take stable consistent videos and have better shutter speed than Samsung. Samsung gives more features inside cameras but there's a little lack of consistency and stability in terms of operating the camera.
Also another thing they need to make better is touch and scrolling. In iPhones, the multitouch expereince is still so much better in 2025.. that can be noticed while playing shooter games. When two fingers are simultaneously touching the screen and you drag one finger, the iPhone doesn't have this jerky movement.. it remain smooth and the screen scrolls exactly how smoothly your finger glides. In One UI, it's not that multi touch is bad but when it comes to micro touch movements using both fingers iOS beats it easily. All these things make the user feel like they're experience a well made finished product. That's why Apple has the reputation it has. Apple never was the best in hardware, iOS was the reason why Apple is still seen a superior and more stable prodcut till now. If anyone can match them or surpass them it's Samsung. All Samsung needs is focusing on those small inconsistencies and polishing it. It's not always the things which seem big on the surface that matters. It's also equally the things which are perfected under the hood.. things which you might not notice but it secretly adds to the premiumness of the product. It's not just hardware that makes phone premium. The software also should be made equally premium. That's the whole point. That's how a product should be made speically if you are a giant company with good reputation. It's Samsung after Apple in smartphone market. If a user shifts to Samsung from Apple, they shouldn't feel like anything missing. They should feel equally good but unique experience.
Samsung, keep innovating in hardware but never forget to give equal or MORE IMPORTANCE TO THE SOFTWARE cuz software is what eventually makes a product look GOOD.
I love Samsung, and i need them to work smarter and not be lazy and laid back and slow. Just GET TO WORK man. Samsung can take over the world. It has the potential but due to these lack of consistencies in the software department it's not progressing more. I remember when S8 came, i used to wonder man what's Samsung donna do in 5 years.. but fast forward 8 years later, they seem to have just either followed Apple's bad trend (removal of sd, headphone, charger in box) or they seem to be just laid back relaxing not really working to be the best. Copy the good things, but also keep your unique aesthetics. Polish what's already there instead of trying to make drastic change. That's how you build a consistent image.
So please, focus more on software.
