There should be an option to remove the clock from our lockscreens and AOD to use whatever we wish to use. I had to jump through hoops to remove it using Clock Face. 

I then put a sticker on top of where the fingerprint sensor is of my dog and turned off always show to achieve what I wanted to achieve. With and without weather effect running.

You can remove it from your AOD by using Clock Face. When using Clock Face select the + button to create a new Clock, in the section where it says text, just press the space bar and save. This will remove the clock from your lock and AOD screens.

That's sort of the whole purpose of AOD.
As a former ROM user who loved a bajillion toggle options, it would be overwhelming the average person.

That's why they added Clock Face for powerusers. Samsung is at least making the effort with GoodLock to be a supplement of actually useful tools that expand the toolset.
