I think it would be cool if folders could be resized like widget sizes can be for their particular grid choices. Tap on a folder to open and expand it as if looking at its apps or contents. The touch and a blank spot, like a user could touch and hold a widget on the home screen, that would create a resizing grid.
Make it it so it can be 3x4 or what ever, even vertical 1x4. Then position the grid to wherever on the screen and end the adjustments to close it. Then when the user taps on that folder and expands it, it opens to the new grid layout and position on the screen. Also, make animations when tapping to open and swiping it away to close back down to its regular folder icon.
No. You can make folder grids bigger, change background colors, etc, but one cannot adjust the size of the folder dimensions or customize them by shape or by preferred screen position.
