Lots of thoughts, but I'll keep it as brief as I can.
Samsung needed to view One UI 7 as a response to iOS 18. In prior years, Samsung was able to rely on features that were exclusive to Android (such as customizable home screens and AI) as a selling point.
Because iOS has now added many of these features, Samsung NEEDED to make improvements to those features that exceeded iOS in both aesthetics and implementation, in large part to prevent users from migrating to iPhone as iOS becomes more open and customizable.
Unfortunately, it seems to me that Samsung has failed to do this. Yes, One UI 7 is an improvement over One UI 6. No doubt about that. But I don't think it's enough.
I hope I'm wrong and they still have some tricks up their sleeve.
Honestly not much. Last samsung phone i had was the Note 20 Ultra on release before switching to ios for a while. For the bit I was on one UI 6.1 I loved it and now on One UI 7 it's been nice. Can't point out any differences compared to the previous version but it's fluid, smooth, animations look fine, battery icon is....new not necessarily bad. If battery could just be improved just a bit more I'd say this is a really great update.
