Good morning members. My phone restarts now when I try to install apks or side loading and I only use trusted sites. Any suggestions on why it's doing that? I'm on beta 2.

Hello,

Thanks for bringing this up. It's unusual for your phone to restart when installing APKs or sideloading, so letā€™s try to narrow down the issue. Here are a few suggestions:

1. Check for Corrupted Files: Ensure the APK files youā€™re installing are not corrupted. Even from trusted sources, files can occasionally be incomplete or faulty.

2. Permissions and Security Settings: On beta versions, security protocols can be more stringent. Double-check if the installation is being blocked by security settings (e.g., "Install Unknown Apps" permissions for the app youā€™re using to sideload).

3. Clear Cache for the Installer: Go to Settings > Apps > Package Installer (or similar, depending on your device) and clear its cache and data. Then, try the installation again.

4. Storage Issues: Confirm you have enough storage space and that your phoneā€™s memory isnā€™t overloaded. Insufficient resources can sometimes cause restarts.

5. Beta-Specific Bugs: Since youā€™re on Beta 2, it could be a bug related to this version (Beta 3 is available for update)

6. Third-Party Interference: If you have any antivirus or optimization apps, they might interfere with installations. Try disabling them temporarily and see if the issue persists.

If none of these steps help, try replicating the issue and provide detailed steps in your error report. This will assist the team in diagnosing the root cause. Let us know how it goes!
