Had a brief issue with this as well. Gemini was not connecting with Google Home commands and automation. Could not use voice command to make a phone call either. Cleared cache, force stop, reconnected to services. Working well.
Bonus - Use Bixby Roitines and button actions to map Gemini to long press power button. Doubble press for camera. Both will work even when the screen is off. Good stuff.
