No Longer Able To Turn On RCS

I was using Samsung Messages and it looks like I can message individuals, but I can no longer respond to group chats that I was able to yesterday. I switched back to Google Messages and now I can't turn on RCS anymore, it's stuck on connecting each time.

Yes that's normal. It's takes time to get registered.
Disable google messages and don't open it again
Open Samsung messages and make it default app
Then try to register one time and wait. Don't to try more than one time.
Next day try again. Be patient and it will work.

Mine always gave me a "Registration Failed" error and while I was taking a final exam I had my phone off for 2 hours and after I turned it on RCS was also suddenly on

The version numbers are off *if* using them as a means to determine version release dates. I posted this before to show that the 161.02.2 is not the latest version. It is actually from December of 2024, probably released during the first of the UI 7.0 betas. Browse those releases here...

There are several issues with your reply. The last version is from December 2025 (uploaded in January 2026 by me) which I was able to extract from internal OneUI 8.5 Beta builds. The version 16.1.02.2 you mentioned was released in August 2025 however was never pushed publicly to Galaxy Store. 16.1.10.62 is from S24 Ultra and this version was also released December 2025 but versions from older devices are useless since these versions don't use Jibe RCS yet and also cannot be installed. Samsung Messages is still being updated although it is 2 versions behind on new devices (should be 16.2.x.x but is stuck on 15.7.x.x) but this is expected since Samsung mentioned no new features after OneUI 6.1.1 will be released (hope this changes).

To you not to us. Samsung messages is way better. And Samsung is all about options. Why do you wanna force us to use your favorite apps?

I thought Samsung was retiring messages that's why all phones come with Google Messages. That change?

Samsung just added another option due to a partnership with Google, but they didn't stop Samsung Messages. It's just not the default app, unfortunately.
