My Crystal UHD TV’s picture randomly (and rapidly) faded and got EXTREMELY hot (could not touch barehanded) in the lower right hand corner (looking towards screen). 

This was quickly followed by the smell of burning plastic, and two columns of LEDs at the bottom becoming extremely bright. 

The TV is around 3 years old and gets limited use due to it being a Theater room TV and not our main television. This is very disappointing due to the age of the television and most importantly the potential fire hazard it would have caused had this happen and not been actively watching the TV. 

As the TV is likely out of the warranty period, I don’t know if it’s worth to even fix as the threat of a fire hazard will always be present. This is ridiculous for a manufacturer to offer such a faulty product that would potentially catch fire, but even more so to have this happen in a 3 year life span with minimal use.
