However, please keep in mind, the lamp stays lit for 2 minutes after it has turned on, and then turns off automatically.

This is a terrible design. When unloading the dryer I need to press the door opening switch multiple times. It's very annoying and will make me avoid purchase Samsung dryers in the future. I fold clothes directly from the dryer. This takes me about 10 minutes maximum. If that setting was auto off after 10 minutes then not a big issue. I'm sure a tiny led doesn't waste that much electricity. If I'm looking to save electricity then I'm not drying clothes in a dryer, I'm hanging them up to dry.
I agree this is a terrible design and if they were interested in power savings they would stop all the annoying tones the dryer plays. A speaker uses significantly more power than a LED
