I am here to just share my frustration about not being able to trade in my Watch Ultra for the newest edition even if changes are minimal.

I upgrade every year and when the newest design is released, but not being able to do this after throwing hundreds of dollars into your ecosystem is EXTREMELY disappointing to say the least. I mean that move really doesnt support your loyalists at all knowing there are people who upgrade every new release.

It bothers me so much so I will probably by a different brand just because of this.

P.S. - Dropping the S Pen is a special move for a unfoldable device you guys. The point of the device is to utilize it as a tablet if needed but not having a Pen for artists and general use on it makes absolutely zero sense.

I'm 100% in agreement @NoBandwidth! I've been a loyal SS customer for YEARS. For me, it has not been hundreds; it's been THOUSANDS (x 3 family members). Like you, I normally stay upgraded every year (phones and watches). Being so disappointed of late, however, I've stayed with my S23. I REALLY want the Fold 7, but so far, SS isn't proving themselves worthy of my business. Two months ago, I bought the Watch 7. While the watch itself is nice, the software has driven over the edge and crashed on the rocks below: It's nearly useless. Trying to get help is non-existent. Apparently, SS's priorities are different than what their human base pays for. I'm able to look towards the future, but it seems they're wasting so much time on the USELESS subroutine and options rather than fixing basic issues.

I won't spend another PENNY on SS until they listen to their base.

IMHO....

I feel the same way. I've been upgrading my watch regularly since the Gear Sport. This is the first time Samsung has decided that last year's flagship model isn't eligible for a trade-in. Very disappointing. So I won't be pre-ordering any new ones this year. I'm going to take a close look at the Pixel Watch 4 later this year when it comes out.

I normally carry both products from Google and Samsung, the watch3 has my heart, literally. The loss of pulse detection is a game changer. Something about having it on the watch just brings me comfort, I'm so amazed more manufacturers are not following behind Google on the technology. Being real here both companies have hit brick wall, and you really need to start looking overseas and that importing phones. I personally use the nubia Z70 s Ultra as my daily.

This has been fixed, you can now trade the ultra in for an ultra, but you can't trade it in for a lower model (which is disappointing but has always been the case)

It's still disappointing. The trade-in value for the Ultra is the same as the 3 year old Watch 5 Pro. And I would rather get the Watch 8 Classic this time but there's no trade-in at all for the Ultra. And it hasn't always been the case. I've always been able to trade in last year's flagship on any model, and get top dollar for it. I feel **bleep** by Samsung.

Trade in values are less across the board, my assumption is we can thank tariffs for this

The trade in values are pretty good for everything but the Ultra. You can get more for a Watch 5 than a new one costs today.
