Close all button will not close all apps, just sends me to home screen

After the One UI 8.0 (Android 16) update. Close All button fails to close any apps and just sends me to home screen. Has anyone had this problem and suggest a fix?

1. Wipe device cache in recovery. See this post for steps, as well as other post-update tips:

2. Download Good Guardians from the Galaxy Store and install & run the Galaxy App Booster module.

I appreciate your help but none of these fixed my problem.

Try clearing cache for One UI Home and System UI in settings > apps. You'll have to show system apps for System UI (see screenshots).

I toggled it on and restarted the tablet and still have the same problem. I really appreciate your help!

It could be a software glitch. Try a soft reset. Press the volume down & power button at the same time and hold until the phone powers off and back on again. See if this helps.

Im now realizing how much information I failed to provide in my initial inquiry, I did try the soft reset before but I did try it again and sadly it did not help

It could be a possible 3rd party app. Try restarting in the safe mode and try the button. If it works then it's a third party app.
