Cant set lock

So I just got a brand new galaxy tab s6, and I cant set any type of screen lock I have to download an app, to get a lock and it's bothering me that I cant just put a normal one on my tablet. I love it for drawing and minecraft and such, but it's making me mad now. if someone could help that would be highly appreciated.

@Rabidbad Try this:

1. Open tablet settings
2. Click on Security and privacy
3. Click on Lock screen
4. Click on Screen lock. You will be asked to setup a pattern or password.
