Why isn't there a clock on the control panel?

I wonder why there isn't a clock on the quick panel, even though there is one on the notification panel. I would personally prefer a clock on the quick panel as well. What are your thoughts on this?

Not having it there is annoying, time and date should be on both panels

Honestly, yea, it's weird that there's all the space still there for the date and time, yet it just disappears.
