SuggestionsMost of the Status Bar icons that was visible when on the home screen like:
Alarm
Bluetooth earbuds connected
VoLTE/VoWifi etc.
have been removed in One UI 7 (it was visible on One UI 6.1)
Now we have to pull down the notification/quick settings panel to see the above icons. This adds an unnecessary extra step which is quite cumbersome.
If I misplace my Bluetooth earbuds or I forget that I connected it with the phone, since the Bluetooth icon is not visible on the home screen status bar, I wont remember the phone is still connected to the earbuds.
Even in case of Alarms, I might forget the alarm has been set since it is not visible on the homescreen status bar.
What is use of the "Status" Bar if not used to indicate status? Why is there a need to hide these icons and leave the space empty ? It seems like a downgrade from One UI 6.1.
I hope these icons are brought back on One UI 7 just like it was on One UI 6.1.
Thanks.

Suggestionsnever been a fan of the awkward shading and solid cover that hinders a full edge to edge viewing experience, many people on here could attest to this.
I think the best compromise for this would be a dedicated section in settings for customizing the appearance and function of the status bar, or at the very least a brand new goodlock module, though i really want One Ui to take on this issue themselves.

SuggestionsYes they should really give us an option to hide/unhide Status Bar icons in One UI 7.
This way most users will be satisfied: Those who want icons can unhide it and those who don't want them can hide it.

SuggestionsHello,
Thank you both for sharing your perspectives on the status bar changes in One UI 7. Itās clear that this topic brings up a lot of diverse opinions, and thatās what makes discussions like this so valuable.
For those who miss the visibility of icons like Bluetooth, alarms, or VoLTE on the home screen, we completely understand how these icons provide quick, at-a-glance functionality. The idea of the āStatusā Bar is, after all, to display relevant statuses, and adding extra steps to access this information can feel inconvenient.
On the other hand, simplifying the status bar for a cleaner, edge-to-edge viewing experience is also a compelling vision. Many users value a minimalist approach, which can enhance the aesthetic appeal of the interface.
A great middle ground, as suggested, could be offering customization options. Whether through a dedicated settings section or a new Good Lock module, allowing users to decide what they want to display would provide the best of both worlds. Weāll be sharing these ideas with the development team, as they align well with Samsungās goal of catering to diverse user preferences.
Thank you for the thoughtful feedback and suggestions.
Regards.
