Now Brief Feedback – Not Quite AI Yet, But Full of Potential
Glad to finally see Now Brief arrive, but I wouldn’t classify it as AI in its current form. It feels more like a basic aggregation tool pulling user-set data from Samsung apps and categories, with a standard text-to-speech engine reading it aloud.
Areas of Improvement:
- News: Headlines alone aren’t useful. Include a brief summary or key takeaway for each story.
- Weather: Provide the full forecast—temperature, conditions, and any alerts—not just a one-liner.
- Contextual Intelligence: There’s no synthesis, prioritization, or personalization. It’s not the dynamic, adaptive briefing that was originally pitched.
Other reviews echo similar concerns. Android Authority called Now Brief “one of the most disappointing Samsung features in years,” citing its lack of depth and missed expectations. Tom’s Guide noted that while it adapts to time-of-day and pulls in calendar and traffic data, it’s mostly useful for surface-level updates.
The S24 Ultra was previously said to lack the hardware for this feature, so it’s good to see it finally arrive. But if Samsung wants Now Brief to be more than a glorified widget, it needs to evolve into a truly contextual assistant—one that understands what matters, summarizes it intelligently, and delivers it with relevance.

- Weather with Context
“Rain expected this afternoon. You have an outdoor event scheduled—would you like to reschedule or send a contingency message?”
- News That Matters
“A new policy was announced that could impact your sector. Want a quick briefing or a draft email to your team?”
- Personalized Nudges
“You’ve been researching wellness tech. A vendor just updated their product specs—want a summary of what changed?”
This is the kind of briefing that adapts to your day, your goals, and your context—not just reads headlines. Copilot could deliver a truly intelligent experience that matches the promise of AI on mobile.
