The bar's interactivity should be enhanced. For example, it could appear when background music is playing or when map applications are in use. Its current lockscreen-only implementation limits interactivity and feels like a mere AOD update.
It would be kind of neat if they found a way to implement it with the bottom gesture/button bar. I saw some neat concepts from people that utilized this space to call up something similar to the Now Bar.
