Notifications in split screen view

I'd like to be able to see the notifications while in split screen view. As it is, the notifications are hidden, unless I missed a setting somewhere.

I'm unsure why, but I see my receiving notifications.

In split screen? Mine disappear. I can swipe down to see them, but they hide again.
