New vs old battery icon

I hope Samsung chooses to give us the option for our battery percentage. The previous style was so clean looking. The new one just looks awkward to me.

I'm thinking that adding the % inside the pill will make it too crowded and weird. Just my 2 cents. 👊🏻 it already looks way nicer than where we started on the various betas we have been on. ✌🏻

I liked the older style because it's much easier to see.

The current icon is fat and ugly. Making it slightly longer, adding a nipple and matching the height of the rest of the icons with the battery would look way more aesthetic.

Agree with the alignment. Not so much with the nipple.

Nipple gives it a battery like look. Imagine having a phone icon as a pill. Making icon close to real life objects gives overall better UI.

I generally agree with the principles of skeumorphism, and I think the pixel's implementation of a rectangular icon with a nipple is great.

The problem with adding a nipple to the pill icon is that it more closely resembles a particular part of human anatomy than a battery.

Then it shouldn't be a pill. It's just ugliest in the entire industry. It neither aligns with the rest of the icons nor meets the aesthetics.

I have not seen the difference in the battery icon since the start of beta. Still looks like the same ol pill. 🤷🏽
