SuggestionsDear Samsung One UI Beta Team,
As a participant in the One UI 7 Beta program, I want to commend you for consistently pushing the boundaries of user experience. During my usage, I thought of a potential enhancement that could elevate the Dark Mode feature and align perfectly with Samsungās AMOLED display advantages.
Suggestion 1: Introducing Adjustable Pure Black Mode in Dark Mode Settings
Feature Proposal:
Introduce an adjustable āPure Black Modeā under the Dark Mode settings, allowing users to customize the darkness level, similar to the āScreen Vividnessā option.
Why This Feature Matters:
1. Enhanced Battery Savings:
With AMOLED screens, rendering pure black pixels keeps them off, dramatically reducing power usage. By allowing users to toggle between dark gray tones and true black, this feature can help optimize battery life even further.
2. User-Centric Experience:
Customization is key to user satisfaction. An adjustable slider would cater to varying preferencesāsome users might prefer lighter gray tones for better readability, while others may prioritize pure black for battery savings and aesthetics.
3. Next-Level AMOLED Optimization:
Samsungās leadership in AMOLED technology can shine further by integrating a user-driven customization feature that not only benefits usability but also showcases the displayās potential for power efficiency.
Implementation Suggestion:
ā¢ Add a āDarkness Levelā slider in the Dark Mode settings within Display Settings.
ā¢ Preview shades in real-time, ranging from the standard dark gray to true black.
ā¢ Ensure the feature is seamlessly integrated with One UIās existing design ethos.
Suggestion 2: Introducing Battery Health and Charge Cycles in Settings
Feature Proposal:
Include a Battery Health section under Device Care in Settings to allow users to monitor battery health percentage, charge cycles, and receive actionable insights for extending battery life.
Why This Feature Matters:
1. Transparency and Control for Users:
Knowing the current battery health percentage and charge cycles empowers users to take better care of their devices and plan for battery replacements proactively.
2. Competitive Parity and Differentiation:
While competitors like Apple and Xiaomi provide basic battery health insights, Samsung has an opportunity to go above and beyond by offering detailed metrics and actionable tips, reflecting its commitment to innovation and user satisfaction.
3. Improved Device Longevity:
Educating users about safe charging practices and providing real-time insights into battery performance ensures they can maximize device lifespan.
Proposed Features for the Battery Health Section:
ā¢ Battery Health Percentage: Displays the remaining capacity compared to the original design capacity.
ā¢ Charge Cycle Tracker: Tracks the number of full charge cycles completed.
ā¢ Usage Insights and Tips: Personalized advice to prolong battery life, e.g., avoiding extreme temperatures, optimal charging ranges, or fast charging best practices.
ā¢ Charging Details: Real-time voltage and temperature monitoring during charging.
Both these suggestions are rooted in enhancing the user experience while showcasing Samsungās commitment to transparency, customization, and innovation. The adjustable Pure Black Mode would leverage AMOLEDās strengths, and the Battery Health feature would instill trust and value among One UI users.
I hope youāll consider these ideas for One UI 7, as they align perfectly with the ethos of user-centric design that Samsung stands for.
Thank you for this opportunity to contribute!
Best regards,
Amaresh Gopal
