Early Impressions of the Now Brief

The Now Brief currently pulls in exercise stats from Samsung Health and recommends Spotify playlists throughout the day. So far, the playlist suggestions have been surprisingly solid—this morning’s mellow guitar coffeehouse jazz was exactly the right vibe.

That said, I’d like to see more content integrated. At the moment, it feels a bit sparse.

I do not use Samsung Weather or Samsung News, so I assume those feeds will not populate in my Brief. If that’s the case, it would be helpful to have other sources or integrations available from third party apps.

Have yet to see Samsung Health appear. Spotify feature sounds nice. Would like to see that expanded to YT Music, as I am not a Spotify user.

So, I went ahead and enabled Samsung Weather, though I don't use the app, and installed Samsung News. Now I have weather and news in the Now Brief.

Samsung Health stats show up when I have completed an activity.

I think that Spotify shows up because it is set as my preferred music player. If I changed it to YT Music, I believe that the recommendations in the Now Brief would be YT.

The settings for this have been consolidated into the Google Home App.

Settings ... Services ... Music

I have not tried to change that setting to see if my theory is correct or not.

At the end of the day, the app preferences should be selectable in the Now Brief settings. There are other apps that allow for selecting any or all of the apps on the phone.
Now Brief would then pull data from the user selected apps.
Maybe exclude access to banking apps. Ha! 😂

YT music has been set as my preferred music player for years. No recommendations. Seems it is just not integrated in the same way.
