The battery icon's transparency (unfilled portion) in One UI 8 is too high, making the number difficult to see compared to One UI 7.

If the developers found the battery icon (the unfilled portion) in One UI 7 too opaque, I suggest implementing a transparency level that lies between the One UI 7 and One UI 8. Maybe, simply making the number more opaque or adding more contrast between the number and the icon would improve visibility.

Also, I think it might be better to adapt the transparency level of the number based on the battery level.
For example,
  • if 100% (battery icon would be completely filled), then set transparency level for the number to 100 (for dark battery icon) or 0 (for light battery icon).
  • If ~30% (the number would be on the unfilled portion), then adjust transparency level accordingly to something like 60 (for dark battery icon) or 40 (for light battery icon)

I hope that Samsung has taken everyone's feedback into account and will work out a new icon that is easier to read for most people

Interesting, my battery icon still looks like it did in One UI 7.
