I have a smart plug that has an energy monitor built in. I have a bug trap plugged into it, and it correctly shows the real time power usage of 1 watt. The bug trap is just a blue light shing on some sticky tape, and was bought from Costco, so it's not some professional product, just a small blue led really.
It's on a routine that runs it for ~12 hours a day, so 12 watts total a day. But for some reason the app is reporting 100's of kilowatts a day, and thousands of kilowatts a month from the device.
I checked my power bill and thankfully I'm not actually using that much power from this plug. Is there any way to correct the power usage?
It is a tapo P115 smart plug.
