Samsung Smart Switch App, (Temporary) Cloud Backup stuck looping on "Restoration Paused, attempting to resume".

Full context: I used to have an S24, now I traded over to an S25 Ultra. I made a backup the day prior on the Smart Switch app for the data I had on my S24 (Files, Secure folder, Gallery, etc.), and it did complete. I made two different backups (Samsung Cloud, and Smart Switch). Time comes for me to trade in my phone, the first issue: Smart Switch app bugs out with both Wireless and Cable options stating "Update app", so we go with backup. Second issue: Samsung account tweaks out with authenticator, managed to figure that out. Third issue: Mother tells me to hurry up, didn't manage to make sure everything transferred over.

 

Issue now: Opening the Smart Switch app to click the cloud icon and press "Restore Data" via cloud, it states "Restoration Paused, attempting to resume". I click "Cancel restoration" and I go back, to see it is still saying "Restoration Paused, attempting to resume."

 

  • I have not tried anything yet. My only hope is the temporary cloud backup in the Smart Switch app that contains my Files, Gallery, Secure Folder, etc. (Not the Samsung Cloud, that is different as it doesn't contain my photos/files/secure folder.)

 

I need someone to help me fix this looping problem.

I can't remember I believe it depends on your provider. I know Spectrum can usually transfer data if you backed it up.
