Samsung Messages using ringtone volume and not notification volume

Can you fix this?, it doesnt make any sense, and its really annoying.

All you do is go to your settings in the app after you open scroll down to ringtone and pick the one you want click it then pull up your volume on the app or in the settings

Yes but the volume is for ringtone, even though it should me notification
