Dear Samsung Support Team,

I hope you are doing well.

I am writing to request that Samsung Messages (and Samsung Video Library) be made the default app for messaging and media playback on Samsung devices in your next software update.

Currently, many users (including myself) prefer Samsungโ€™s own apps for their simplicity, performance, and seamless integration with the One UI experience. However, we often find that third-party apps are set as default, which reduces usability and consistency.

Making Samsung Messages and Samsung Video Library the default options would improve user experience and ensure better performance and reliability for all Samsung users.

Thank you for considering this request. I truly appreciate your support and look forward to seeing continued improvements in future updates.

Kind regards,

[Azhar]

The standalone Samsung Video Library app was discontinued by Samsung, with official support ending January 1, 2024, due to low usage, but its functionality is now integrated into the standard Samsung Gallery app and the my files app for playing local videos.

Samsung has publicly stated that their goal is mass RCS adoption and that Google Messages is the vehicle for accomplishing this. Google Messages is objectively superior in terms of functionality.

While it doesn't appear that Samsung Messages is going to be completely discontinued any time soon, features for the app are likely to continue to vanish in the US to encourage users to switch.

it would be great if Samsung Messages and Samsung Video Library were made default options like other core apps. It could make the overall experience smoother and more consistent across devices. Thanks for bringing this up!
