Not a dumb question. Go to the Contacts app, click the name of the person and at the bottom you'll see the edit tab. Or while in the phone app, click on contacts, click on the contacts name and then press the "i" icon and it'll take you to where you can edit the contact, bottom of the screen is an edit tab.
