Finally solved a months long SmartTag 2 "Ring My Device" not alerting/ringing

Issue:
All my SmartTag 2 devices suddenly stopped ringing my Galaxy S25 Ultra when double-pressed. Instead of taking over the screen and playing a ringtone, I only received a brief SmartThings notification saying:
SmartThings 11:11 PM Bag (Tag 2)
1 automation is active. This notification is elusive too. It can only be seen by checking notification history in the advanced settings of the notifications settings menu. It registered as a Smartthings notification with all default values such as sound on with default notification sound. No additional options.

The tags were connected and worked normally otherwise. I could ring each tag from the app, but the phone itself would only vibrate and never play a sound. If I select a different device like an old project S20 I keep around, it works fine, so tags are good to go regardless.

Troubleshooting:
I checked every possible setting, including SmartThings permissions, notification access, visibility settings, SmartThings Find registration, and notification categories. I also contacted Samsung Support, and the representative confirmed that I had already done more steps than their standard troubleshooting guide covers. Uninstalled Smartthings and find, etc. I verified every single item there is in notifications and locations settings as well as every possible app setting for every app, including their individual notification settings, that has some sort of interaction with the find process.

Fix:
I logged out of my Samsung account on the phone and signed back in. This immediately re-registered my phone with SmartThings Find, and all SmartTags began ringing the phone again as normal. I can't believe it was that stupid and simple. I hope this helps someone 🙏

Summary:
- SmartTag 2 double-press only showed a notification and vibration

- After re-login, the phone rings normally when tags are double-pressed

If your SmartTag shows “1 automation is active” but your phone doesn’t ring, try re-authenticating your Samsung account before resetting anything. It refreshes the SmartThings Find link between your phone and the cloud.

TLDR: If your SmartTag 2 won't ring your phone and only shows "1 automation is active," log out of your Samsung account on the phone, reboot, and sign back in. This refreshes SmartThings Find and fixes it instantly
