Samsung, please adopt the Google Gemini call screening functionality. Google has implemented call screening on their Pixel devices for years and has been proven to help eliminate spam, fraud, and scam calls. Even Apple is implementing their own version of call screening into IOS26 this year. Please implement Call Screening into the Samsung dialer app.
What sucks is many spams are piggybacking off real numbers! Somehow they commandeered by Dad's Xfinity VOIP Landline to his Home Business. We could not book a single haircut for Dad (Barber) and we received over 300 callbacks asking **bleep** we were trying to pull. I kindly explained #1 (99.99% positive Xfinity VOIP SELLS EVERY BIT OF METADATA THEY CAN!) But bad guys had used some vulnerability in Xfinity which allowed them to auto dial USING OUR PH# we've literally had over 49yrs!! SO, BLOCKING SHOULD ONLY BE DONE WHEN POSITIVE SAME NUMBER IS FROM INDIA, PAKISTAN, ECT. โDOUBTS, HIT CALLBACK! IF SCENARIO WE EXPERIENCED FOR 3 DAYS A REAL HUMAN WILL ANSWER AND SAY, YEAH MY PH# HIJACKED.
Let's be very clear, the open version of Google Dialer is not the same as the Pixel variant. Along with Google Call Screening. There are many functions such as visual voicemail, hold for me, call notes, and direct my call that are not a part of the open variant that any android phone can download.
Additionally, carriers do not use call screening. There are some spam protections, but none of them are as usual or efficient as modern Google Call screening. Even if Samsung did not want to develop its own call screen. Adopting over to Google's Gemini call screening would be significantly better anyway. And the fact that we currently do not have call screening at all. Something would be better than nothing. Samsung has already fully adopted Gemini into their AI tools so there's no reason it couldn't code Gemini call screening into their stock dialer.
Doesn't matter if the Phone by Google dialer is not the same as the Pixel Dialer, I wouldn't expect it to be. The point is that it is not the Samsung dialer and it does not have the call recording feature that some people so dearly hate. It may not have call screening, but it is my understanding that it handles the control of spam and scam calls better (I cannot attest to this, as I don't use it because I have no problem with the Samsung dialer). It may also help people who are having trouble finding a VVM app, since it has a VVM included.
